Designed for children ages 1 and up, Probiotic 123 from Pure Encapsulations is a pediatric formula probiotic supplement. This soy free formula provides 2.25 billion CFU naturally occurring, dairy-free beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium lactis to support gastrointestinal and immune health.
Lactobacillus acidophilus works to maintain the GI barrier that prevents toxins and undigested food molecules from escaping and entering the rest of the body where they may lead to infections; this is due to its potential to support the strength of the gastrointestinal tract's lining. In addition bifidobacteria may alleviate discomfort due to diarrhea.
Additionally, probiotics work to strengthen your immune system in several ways. Supplementation with Probiotic 123 may promote healthy levels of cytokine production in the colon. At the same time they may enhance the functioning of T-cells B-cells and NK-cells which strive to fight off germs that can make you or your child sick.
