Bold Cranberry Plus features two concentrated extracts of cranberry, delivering a therapeutic amount of 36 mg soluble Proanthocyanidins confirmed by DMAC/A2 testing methodology (rather than insoluble PACs which have not been shown to be effective). Cranberries contain both soluble and insoluble PACs. Soluble PACs are found in the juice, while insoluble PACs are found in the fiber of the skin and seeds. Studies show it is the soluble or A-Type PACs that have anti-adhesion activity, while the insoluble PACs do not show any activity. Many products do not specify the type or quantity of PACs. At Bold Botanica we test specifically for SOLUBLE PACs, using the DMAC/A2 test method, the same testing method used by Consumer Labs. Studies suggest that 36 mg of soluble PACs per day supports anti-adhesion activity.
